Rajkot updates news during the sixth phase of vibrant gujarat summit 135 mous were signed: During the sixth phase of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, which took place in January 2019, Rajkot made several significant announcements and signed numerous Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs). The summit aimed to establish Gujarat as a global business hub by bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, and leaders from around the world to discuss and explore business opportunities.
A total of 135 MoUs were signed during the event, with an estimated investment of around Rs 56,000 crore. Several industries, including automotive, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and renewable energy, were among those that signed MoUs.
Rajkot, one of the major cities of Gujarat, announced various investment proposals and agreements during the summit. One of the major highlights was the signing of an MoU between Rajkot Municipal Corporation and Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. for setting up a plastic recycling plant in the city. The plant was expected to recycle around 40,000 metric tonnes of plastic waste annually and generate employment for around 200 people.
Another notable MoU was signed between Rajkot Nagarik Sahakari Bank Ltd. and IIM Ahmedabad’s incubation center for start-ups. Under this agreement, the bank would provide funding and other support to innovative start-ups in the city. Additionally, Rajkot-based company KRUSHI VIKAS UDHYOG signed an MoU with Israel’s Netafim Ltd. for the establishment of a joint venture to manufacture and distribute drip irrigation systems in India.
Furthermore, various companies, including Welspun India Ltd., Gokul Refoils and Solvent Ltd., and Gujarat Guardian Ltd., also signed MoUs during the summit, which were expected to generate employment and boost the local economy.
Apart from investment proposals, Rajkot also showcased its rich cultural heritage and vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem during the summit. The city organized cultural programs, exhibitions, and conferences to showcase its traditional arts, crafts, and businesses to the delegates and visitors.
